Barrique Herbal Spirit Grobničke Alpe, a traditional Croatian spirit, is distilled directly from the pomace of carefully selected grape varieties. Along with its distinctive aroma and character, it develops a deeper and more complex flavour through ageing in specially crafted oak barrels. During this process, the spirit takes on subtle tannins from the oak, developing unique notes of freshness and the wild beauty of the mountain range popularly known as the Grobnik Alps.

Ageing in oak barrels is not only about flavour but also about preserving a tradition dating back to a time when wooden vessels were the only way to store precious spirits. Over the years, the oak releases tannins that contribute to the spirit’s distinctive character, while the rakija retains the purity of the mountain air that has long been a symbol of the strength and resilience of the people of the Grobnik region.
